Dietary safety

Useful guardrails, never a substitute for the label.

Farefully is designed to respect household exclusions, but food safety still depends on the exact product you buy.

Always check the exact product label. Ingredients, allergen statements, manufacturing processes and certification can change. Farefully cannot guarantee absence of cross-contamination and is not medical or dietary advice.

Coeliac, gluten-free and wheat-free

Farefully treats these as separate planning needs. Coeliac and gluten-free rules also consider gluten sources beyond wheat. Wheat-free specifically removes known wheat sources and applies suitable substitutions where the recipe system supports them.

Allergens

The planner can filter against common allergen metadata, but packaged foods vary by brand and formulation. A recipe passing Farefully's filter does not remove the need to check the product's own allergen statement.

Halal planning

Halal mode is a planning aid, not religious certification. Pork ingredients are excluded and meat-product checks are surfaced where relevant. Verify Halal certification for the exact product you buy.

Hard exclusions

Foods marked Never suggest are treated as hard exclusions in generated plans and swaps. “Not keen” is different: it tells Farefully to strongly deprioritise something rather than treating it as a safety rule.

Medical dietary needs

For diagnosed allergies, Coeliac disease or other medical dietary requirements, follow advice from your healthcare professional and verify products independently before buying or eating them.
